Kim S. - Retired USAF Veteran-Director of Operations

Kim Swanson is a retired service member who served 20 years in the United States Air Force and is the definition of "dog lover". Kim also has a Bachelors degree in Human Resources and is the heartbeat of OTCK9. She is from Sherman Texas and has been a dog Mom for most of her life. After retiring from the military she chose to follow her heart which lead her to dogs.

Carlos R. - Manager/Trainer/Army Veteran

Carlos has been training dogs for over 6 years. He is a

US Army veteran and joined OTCK9 to continue his service to his community. He specializes in behavior modification, aggression rehab and community relations. He also runs his own Kennel business providing Service Dogs to those in need.

Rose R. - Kennel Master

Rose has been working with OTCK9 since October 2022. Rose is the co-owner of Roman Dynasty Kennels and has 11 dogs of her own. Her expertise in kennel management helps us maintain a healthy and safe kennel environment.

About The Owners

Darrell and Kim Swanson welcome you to Off The Chain K9 Academy LLC where dogs are trained and people are educated. Both Darrell and Kim have served over 20 years in the military. They take pride in their commitment to their customers knowing that dogs aren't just pets but part of the family.

Darrell's love for dogs and Kim’s love for dogs brought them to Jo-Thor's Dog Trainers Academy with the Post 9-11 GI Bill. They studied for four years and achieved Professional, Advanced and Advanced Master Dog Educator/Trainer Certifications.

During those six years, they partnered in a dog training, boarding, and dog daycare business located in Kennesaw, Georgia and named it Off The Chain K9 Academy. Since opening, Darrell and Kim have trained and boarded hundreds of dogs at their Kennesaw and Canton locations. Some dogs with severe behavior problems and others with the calm personality to become a service or therapy dog to a Veteran or Civilian with PTSD.
